Please Support the AHI
If you have already made a tax-deductible contribution to the Alexander Hamilton Institute for the Study of Western Civilization (AHI) for this year, we thank you for your generosity. If not, we send this note as a friendly reminder that the AHI needs your support.
As we near the end of 2016, the AHI is undertaking an ever expanding list of programmatic activities and initiatives. For a sampling of our work, we invite you to read “From the President’s Desk.” In addition, recent incidents after the presidential election on a wide variety of college campuses, including at Hamilton College, suggest more powerfully than words why the AHI is needed. In response to several such incidents, the AHI will be co-sponsoring with the Hamilton College Republican Club an appearance in January by Kim Strassel, member of the editorial board of the Wall Street Journal, who will speak on the threats to free speech on campus.
For students across the political spectrum, the AHI offers a comfortable and nurturing, but challenging place of intellectual engagement and open ended and intensive enquiry of issues and ideas which is so desperately needed today. In that vein, the AHI will be co-sponsoring, March 31-April 2, at Colgate University the Annual Undergraduate Conference in the American Polity. The AHI continues to be praised by the American Council of Trustees and Alumni (ACTA), which works with donors to create and monitor high-impact gifts to colleges and universities. In a recent article about giving with a purpose, ACTA’s executive director of the Fund for Academic Renewal stated that there are “glimmers of hope” for giving with purpose when describing how the AHI “work(s) collaboratively off campus with students, alumni, and scholars to develop traditional liberal arts programming and vigorous discussion of ideas and issues.”
Please help us continue to develop traditional liberal arts programming.
We are supported exclusively by our donors. We receive no funding from the government or from Hamilton College. The AHI is a tax-exempt organization within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Accordingly, contributions are deductible to the fullest extent provided by law.
We accept donations directly via our website, or if you wish to mail a donation to support the AHI, please send your contribution to:
