The Center for Statesmanship, Law, and Liberty (Center), an affiliate of the Alexander Hamilton Institute for the Study of Western Civilization (AHI),  is pleased to announce the 4th Annual Symposium entitled “The University as a Marketplace of Ideas? The Debate over Free Speech and Fundamental Fairness on Campus.”  The symposium will be held each evening April 4  & 5 at 7:00 PM on the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) campus and is free and open to the public.

With recent incidents such as the violence at UC Berkeley and Orwellian fears about “alternative facts” making national headlines, RIT’s Center will lead the way in providing a forum for thoughtful examination of these questions. Former President of the ACLU and Constitutional law expert Nadine Strossen will speak on these issues at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, April 4 at RIT’s Bldg. 6 Liberal Arts, A205.  On Wednesday, April 5  at 7:00 PM, free speech advocate Alan Charles Kors will address freedom of speech and higher education at RIT’s Ingle Auditorium.
