The Alexander Hamilton Institute for the Study of Western Civilization (AHI) was recently mentioned by Philanthropy Roundtable as one of a handful of donor funded organizations that have improved political diversity on campus. The article states:

“Over the past two decades philanthropists have made headway in improving the teaching of classic literature, liberty-based politics, American constitutionalism, religion, and market economics. Special donor-funded programs are found at colleges large and small, public and private—including the James Madison Program at Princeton University, the Institute for the Study of Western Civilization at Texas Tech University, and the Alexander Hamilton Institute that serves Hamilton College students. These philanthropic initiatives have institutionalized small footholds for intellectual traditions other than the dominant liberal approaches, and opened opportunities for including conservative faculty and students in the mix of campus learning. There is room for much more to be done.”
