On July 29, Mary Grabar, Resident Fellow of the Alexander Hamilton Institute for the Study of Western Civilization (AHI), published the article “American Concentration Camps? Where Would AOC and Other Millennials Get Such an Idea?” in PJ Media. In her article, Dr. Grabar talks about the impact of Howard Zinn’s writings stating “If you think that it is outrageous that Democratic presidential candidates want to eliminate the southern border and that Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez calls our detention facilities there ‘concentration camps,’ then you haven’t been reading and believing Howard Zinn’s best-selling A People’s History of the United States.”
Mary Grabar, Ph.D., taught college English for 20 years. She founded the Dissident Prof Education Project, Inc., a 501(c)(3) education reform initiative. The motto, “Resisting the Re-Education of America,” arose in part from her perspective as a very young immigrant from the former Communist Yugoslavia (Slovenia specifically).
